Navigating Economic Crossroads: Unpacking the Bangladesh Crisis Impact on the Indian Economy
On August 21, 2024, our college buzzed with intellectual vigor as students from the B.Com (CA) and B.Com (PA) departments presented a compelling paper on the “Bangladesh Crisis Impact on the Indian Economy.” This paper presentation, a highlight of our departmental competition, delved deep into the multifaceted repercussions of political and economic instability in Bangladesh on India.
The presentation was meticulously crafted to analyze the crisis from several critical angles. It began by outlining the current state of instability in Bangladesh, setting the stage for an in-depth discussion on its wide-ranging implications for India. The presenters explored how disruptions in Bangladesh have affected bilateral trade, highlighting challenges and shifts in economic relations. They also assessed the significant impact of migration flows and regional security concerns, which continue to shape economic dynamics on both sides of the border.
A key element of the presentation was its forward-looking perspective. The students not only identified pressing issues but also offered thoughtful policy recommendations aimed at mitigating adverse effects on the Indian economy. Their proposals emphasized the need for robust economic strategies and improved security measures, urging policymakers to consider comprehensive solutions that safeguard economic interests while addressing humanitarian concerns.
This event underscored the importance of academic inquiry in understanding and addressing complex international issues. By critically evaluating the Bangladesh crisis, our students have demonstrated how academic research can inform practical policy-making, ultimately contributing to a more resilient economic framework for India.
